Tan Zhongyi
Tan Zhongyi was born on May 29, 1991. Currently, she is member of Chess Team of Chongqing Chess Institute and holder of the title of  Grandmaster.
During the period of 2000 to 2002, Tan Zhongyi has won first prize in World Youth  Championship for three times.
In 2006, Tan Zhongyi has achieved the first place in National Sport Convention Chess Championship.
In 2011, Tan Zhongyi has won the Women’s World Chess Team Championship.
In 2011, Tan Zhongyi has won the 1st place in World University Championship in Shenzhen and became the first woman chess champion in the history of University Championship. Meanwhile, she has also achieved first place in the mixed team category in this event. 
In September of 2016, Tan Zhongyi has achieved gold medal in the 42nd Chess Olympiad, in which she has participated in all the 11 rounds and achieved the outstanding performance, namely 7 victories, 4 draws and 0 defeat.
On March 3, 2017, Tan Zhongyi defeated the Ukrainian player Anna Muzychuk in the World Women’s Chess Championship held in Tehran Iran and she became the 16th World Champion in the chess history, as well as the 5th Chinese woman of achieving this title in succession to Xie Jun, Zhu Chen, Xu Yuhua and Hou Yifan.
In 2017, Tan Zhongyi has achieved gold medal both in individual and team events in Asian Indoor Games.
In 2017, Tan Zhongyi has achieved gold medal in the women’s chess event in National Games.
